Mat graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, but having decided that it was another path he wished to follow, he joined the studio as an assistant at the end of 1999.

Ten years later he has worked on a large number of varied film, TV and album projects from the natural history epics Planet Earth and Life, to films such as In Bruges and Nine; also on classical projects with artists such as Placido Domingo and Michael Nyman, and more recently engineering string sessions for Tina Arena and choral sessions for BBC's drama Merlin.
