In preperation for the release of the Chaplin back catalogue on DVD featuring remastered picture, engineer Gary Thomas was called upon to re-record and mix the original Chaplin scores.

The first of these to be released will be the classic 1925 silent film 'The Gold Rush', which on its 1942 re-release received an oscar nomination for best sound recording.

The orchestra was recorded in Italy with the mix taking place in Angel's Studio 2.
